I have taken two separate 6 Day Holistic Management courses facilitated by 3 HMI Certified instructors. And while I have gained tremendous value from the considerable time and financial capital I invested for those trainings, it is now paled in comparison to the clarity and value I have gained from working through Javan’s Holistic Life Context process.

During his 6 week program I only had to book 6 hours of time for phone conversations and the reminder of the work modules was completed as my busy schedule allowed. I knew that my time spent working with Javan would help my to advance my understanding of Holistic Management, but still my expectations were blown away. His incredible ability to distil the complex and abstract concepts of HM into clear and potent insights, that you can actually apply to your life on a daily basis, is remarkable. I now have the mental clarity to survey my life and quickly and thoughtful discern a path forward that is not only leading to my Holistic Goal, it actually is my Holistic Goal. I now feel like I am experiencing life in slow motion.

Faced with an opportunity to purchase a portion of the family farm back I was overwhelmed with emotions and biases. I couldn’t see straight. After reviewing my Holistic Life Context, speaking with Javan and a lot of the toughest work on the farm there is – thinking, it was clear that this opportunity, just not for me. I side stepped $500,000 in debt, saving time, frustration and financial pain. My current farm businesses and quality of life have never been better.

For me, Javan has been a much needed voice of reason in my life. His insights around marketing, in particular, have given me the clarity I needed to create a marketing strategy that has me spending less time herding people, and more time herding cows.

Javan helped prevent me from potentially making a $50,000 business mistake in a mere 15 minute phone conversation – not from sharing his own opinion on the situation but from asking the right questions, that illuminated my own needs and weak links, making the decision obvious. I am so very thankful to have access to his guiding influence when needed.

The Life Design component of our PDC, taught by Javan of All Points Life Design, changed the way our students proceed after the course. It equipped our students with the ability to identify their passions and talents and create a livelihood that fulfills them personally, socially, financially and ecologically. I watched as several students accepted the challenge to start a new business based on what Javan taught and I am proud to say they created an organic home food delivery business called Farm Bound, which has been recognized as New Business of the Year in Vernon 2017! As a permaculture designer, practitioner and instructor I have not come across a more useful, universally applicable tool than the process that Javan teaches.

Personally, having watched Javan’s process several times, I applied it to my own life which has led me to adapt my career path to follow my passion and pursue avenues in regenerate development that I had been suppressing. Equipped with Holistic Context and Life Design principles I am better prepared to make decisions, plan for the future and live my life to my highest potential.

Javan provides an immeasurably useful service; he helps find value. We found and prioritized value through dealing with Javan. The context allowed us to determine what was the most important to us. Javan strengthened our resolve to focus on those facets of our life and business through his ability to cut through the noise to discover what drives us. After working with Javan, I have learned more about myself then I knew before. He made me look at myself, the things around me and the people in my life, asking hard questions and digging up answers from deep inside, reflecting on thoughts, feelings and memories from past and present. It meant a hard look at the future. At times I was confused but after his phone calls and reflection, he helped me reach clarity and realise that I could build a better life not only for myself but those close to me, whether family or just those involved in my life.

Using my work with Javan I was able to quickly make a decision that saved me $22,000 in tractor costs and repairs. This work made a real difference on the farm.

Let’s say, you have gotten a beautiful blank canvas, and you are working away on your painting, you are working and adding all sorts of colour and texture because you know how to paint and you know exactly what you want it to be.

All of the sudden, you take a step back and you realize you have lost the plot, you have added so much stuff it is hard to tell what the initial inspiration was and it looks like a mess, no-one including yourself knows what you are trying to achieve anymore.

Javan, for us, was the voice from the back of the room, the teacher that gives you the honest truth about what he sees and hears and gives you the tools to peel off the layers of unnecessary elements that have confused the whole picture.

Working with Javan gave us a framework to make decisions with ease, confidence and clarity. We feel like we are in a safe place and the beautiful thing about it is that you can always paint a new painting!!! It makes it fun.
